Rancilio is one of the best-known and most-loved brands in the world of espresso. The Italian manufacturer has released some of the most popular home and commercial espresso machines both among our customers and worldwide. Rancilio combines traditional craftsmanship with continuous technological innovation and aims for the highest standards of espresso quality, reliability, and durability.
The RS1 professional, multi-boiler espresso machine is not simply for making espresso; it has been specially designed, tested and built for serving specialty coffees, giving baristas consistently better cup profiles through variable control, including temperature profiling, for different single-origin beans.
About the Rancilio RS1 Specialty Espresso Machine
To help coffee professionals easily configure specific extraction profiles for different single-origin coffees or blends, each group head has three barista profiles and corresponding buttons. Two of them are customisable modes with variable pre and post-infusion timers as well as dedicated extraction temperature controls for each group. The third, middle button on the panel can be used for a continuous extraction when held for ~1 second and can also be used for flushing between shots.
A large, intuitive 4.3″ touchscreen is centrally located on the machine and each group head has dedicated and intelligent displays, showing an automatic dispensing stopwatch and extraction temperature. The touchscreen provides quick and intuitive access to all the machine’s features and settings as well as for customising the group head and steam lever profiles.
With its Advanced Temperature Profiling technology, among the most advanced multi-boiler technology available for espresso machines, the RS1 gives baristas the ability to increase or decrease the temperature of the water by up to 5°C (9°F) during the course of the extraction. By precisely controlling the temperature profile of each espresso extraction, you can unlock the flavour potential of each specialty coffee you serve. Temperature profiling can help you adjust the levels of sweetness, acidity, body, bitterness and astringency.
Stainless steel group heads, each containing a micro-boiler and two heating elements keep up with any pace. As well as maintaining the temperatures of both the water and the group head stable, the multi-boiler system improves machine-wide thermal consistency, even when simultaneously brewing espresso and steaming milk.
Specialty Coffee Association Certification
The RS1 has passed the rigorous Specialty Coffee Association testing standards and is one of the very few machines to ever be recognised as a SCA-Certified Espresso Machine. This certification is largely based on consistency in output both in terms of pressure and temperature.
